Alfred Herrhausen Gesellschaft: Travel Grant Developing Urban Futures Conference

Allgemeines Anliegen des Stipendiums

In order to promote young talent and enhance the exchange between German-speaking countries and Africa, Alfred Herrhausen Gesellschaft is offering a travel grant to five University students to attend the "Developing Urban Futures" conference in Addis Ababa from November 29th - 30th. In addition to full participation in the conference, the grant covers a briefing, a city-tour, and a networking dinner in Addis Ababa as well as a follow-up event in Berlin. What is the "Developing Urban Futures" conference? The 17th Urban Age conference, jointly organised by LSE Cities at the London School of Economics and the Alfred Herrhausen Gesellschaft, will focus on the development of cities in rapidly urbanising countries. By convening urban experts, policymakers and practitioners from around the world, the conference will address the economic foundations of urban change and investigate current models of planning and governance with regards to efficiency and social justice.   Why participate? Grant recipients will enjoy a unique experience in one of Africa’s most dynamic and politically significant cities and will have the opportunity to engage in networking and intellectual exchange with established experts. The experience will be rounded off with a day of post conference reflection and networking in Berlin.
