Startschuss Abi

Find Motivated and Talented Students with Startschuss Abi

In Germany, the demand for international study programmes is increasing steadily. At present, over 70 percent of Germany’s students go abroad for study or work-study programmes. In the light of the Bologna process and the German decision in favour of tuition fees for universities, internationally oriented study programmes are expected to attract even more students from Germany over the next few years. This is an ideal starting point for universities aiming to recruit the best international students.

Startschuss Abi organized by e-fellows.net allows you to inform exceptionally talented and motivated A-level students about your study programmes. There are three ways for you to do this:
1. Startschuss Abi events:
Direct contact to motivated students

At the Startschuss Abi events organized by e-fellows.net in co-operation with DIE ZEIT you can speak directly to top applicants and recruit them for your study programmes:
  • at least 500 selected students from class levels 11 to 13 take part in each of the events. These students are among the top 50% in their year group.

  • The students have applied online via e-fellows.net and entered their profile information (contact details, school visited, marks, intended course of study). After the event we send you the contact details of the participants so that you can keep in touch with the students.

  • You will gain an especially intensive contact to your target group. The limited number of exhibitors (20 to 30 per location) allows an especially intensive contact to your target group and you will receive a great deal of attention. In addition, you can do a presentation on your university.
Startschuss Abi takes place in five cities: Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, Ruhr district (Gelsenkirchen) and Stuttgart. The exhibitors welcome the opportunity to present themselves to the pre-selected students through a combination of the exhibition booth and the presentation. The students welcome the personal atmosphere at Startschuss Abi, the thorough advice and the direct contact to university students and trainees. Great praise always goes to the supporting programme: in addition to the presentations by exhibitors, students are given information about spending time abroad or financing their studies, among other things.

Feedback on the events:
  • "As a newscomer, we felt well looked after and prepared (tips on the stand equipment, the presentation and preparation mailing)."
  • "It was great that, in the run-up to the event, we were always informed of the state of affairs in due time."
  • "The selection of the participants, that is quality and quantity, was excellent."
  • "The advance information of the participating students is a highlight."

2. Startschuss Abi book:
Inform A-level students throughout Germany

Startschuss Abi offers another opportunity to present your university to especially talented A-level students: the
Startschuss Abi book informs prospective students all about university courses and career choices in economics and engineering and presents the study and work-study programmes of renowned universities and companies which offer courses in these branches. Your university can be represented in the Startschuss Abi book with a two- or four-page profile. Teachers and principals of our 700 partner schools will give copies of the book to outstanding students in years 11 to 13 free of charge. So you can present your study programme without great personnel costs to 15,000 students from 13 German states. The example profile (0,6 MB) of the European School of Business Reutlingen (in German) demonstrates how a university profile could be designed.

Feedback of a teacher on the book:
"Your guidebook on choice of degree and career choice met our students' approval. The content is very clear and attractively prepared and the personal reports are very vivid. Not least the hardcover which makes it a "real book" distinguishes this guidebook from the many usual brochures."

3. Startschuss Abi online:
Portrait on our website and entry in the newsletter

Renowned universities and companies present themselves on
www.e-fellows.net/abi. You can provide information on your study programs, application procedures and business contacts. Your portrait is available on our website during twelve months. The example portrait shows you what a portrait on our website can look like.

In addition, we send the Startschuss Abi newsletter to our selected pool of students every two months. In the newsletter we inform about current articles on our website that are of special relevance for this target group. These may be reports about time spent abroad, application tips or career profiles. The newsletter also includes entries by universities and companies. For instance, you can provide information about new study programmes, remind readers of application deadlines or announce your next open day.
