Founded in 1902, Università Bocconi is one of Europe’s leading economics and business universities. Its modern urban campus is located in the center of Milan, the country’s commercial, financial and fashion capital. Bocconi has erected new buildings for the business school, for lecture halls and study areas, and for student housing since 2000. In 2008, the stunning new research center building will be inaugurated, along with more housing. Always a standout among Italian schools for its international outlook, Bocconi offers an extensive range of undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate programs taught entirely in English by an international faculty.

Study Programs at Università Bocconi

For the 2009-2010 academic year, Bocconi offers an undergraduate degree program of particular interest to international students: the Bachelor of International Economics, Management and Finance.

This three-year program lays a basis in general economics during the first year of study. This ensures that the students, who come from dozens of countries around the world, can establish common study methods and skill sets. Lessons are held in English, and the teachers include visiting professors from other universities as well as guest speakers from the commercial and institutional areas.

The second year leads students deeper into the realms of management and business law.

Third year students decide between a major in economics, management or in finance, pick their elective courses from within the chosen major and write a final paper. Bachelor holders may apply to Bocconi‘s broad range of two-year Master of Science programs, or a selection of one-year Specialized Master and PhD programs.

Your Application to Università Bocconi

Up to 65 percent of the places for programs taught in English are reserved for international applicants (Winter and Spring sessions). The core elements of evaluation are the results of one aptitude test (SAT score or Bocconi test) and the school records of the third-last and second-last years of secondary school. In addition, a dossier with a number of documents is required, such as a motivational letter, a CV, certificates of extracurricular actvities, etc. An English language certificate should be provided as well.

The admission procedure involves filling out an online application, and then sending the dossier to the University Admissions Office.
